The Plainridge Park Casino continues to be scheduled to be opened this June.
Massachusetts casinos are going to shake up the casino that is regional, potentially drawing clients from Connecticut, ny and other states while keeping regional gambling dollars in their state.
And while it’s going to still be some time before major casino projects in Springfield plus the Boston area are finished, the first salvo in New England’s casino wars is still anticipated to be fired this summer.
According to Penn National Gaming, the Plainridge Park Casino is on schedule become opened by June 24.
That’s notable not since the project is on time, but because of the historically poor weather suffered throughout much of New England this previous winter, where numerous locations recorded a few of the snowiest and coldest weather in history.
Construction: On Time, Over Budget
That climate is likely to postpone numerous construction projects through the region, but didn’t slow down the building of the slots parlor.
The facility will maybe not be able to provide dining table games, but will have other electronic machines along with slots; two full casino resorts have been authorized in hawaii, and a third could be licensed later this year.
However, the report that is public Thursday did note that the estimated cost of building the facility has increased within the final few months.
